Running for a cause – I have been called out
I have been running because it makes me feel good, it relieves stress, it gives me a sense of accomplishment and most of all it helps keep me focused. I like to help motivate people and help them with their training with advice and feedback, but I am running an unscheduled race because I have been called out. A local internet marketing professional Tyler Hurst has written a post saying that he can beat me in a 5k in his Vibrams. For the record, I had Tyler beat before he wrote that post on his blog.
I am not running so that I can prove to Tyler that I am faster than him. He already knows that I am. We don’t classify each other as nemeses. As a matter of fact, we will be heading to California for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Los Angeles Half-Marathon to race together. I just had a realization that even though I like to help others with their training, I am not doing enough with the talent that I have worked so hard to bring back to life. This will be the first time that I am running for a cause. Here is a link to my event page if you feel that you are able to make a small contribution.

Your run-fu is weak, old man. You must master form to beat me.
If I was running in a banana suit we might have a race.
