Since the ice will be diluting the tea, use twice the amount of loose leaf tea as you usually would.
3 tsp Loose Leaf Tea
Pour in the Hot Water
Hot and iced tea should be brewed at 195º F. Any hotter, the tannins and caffeine will release from the leaves, making your tea cloudy. If it is brewed much colder, you may not have full flavored tea.
1 Cup Water
Steep the Tea
Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes. The longer the time, the stronger the brew. Too long and you'll get a cloudy tea.
Strain the Tea
Once the time is up, strain the tea immediately and pour over ice.
Notes
You can either strain with a mesh strainer or cheesecloth depending on the coarseness of the tea.
